Role Responsibilities:

  • Acquiring data from various sources and combining and transforming data into interpretable datasets, reports or dashboards.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data collection techniques.
  • Extend company data with third-party information sources as needed.
  • Processing, cleaning and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
  • Perform data profiling of data contained in source systems.
  • Provide a detailed analysis of all data implemented in the database.
  • Provide data mapping and associated transformation rules for each data element.
  • Ensure that business requirements and subsequent development activities are supported by accurate information.
  • Interpret data, analyze results and provide analytical models, reports and/or dashboards.
  • Data mining and analysis to optimize and improve product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
  • Feature selection, creation and optimization of classifiers using machine learning techniques.
  • Using predictive modeling to augment and optimize customer experiences, generation and targeting, and other business outcomes.
  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Use data to answer key questions about the business.
  • Support and maintain project data models at multiple levels of detail and functionality.
  • Obtain technical/system rules to help data modelers build detailed data models and technical mapping.
  • Work directly with management and other business users to gather requirements, provide status updates and build relationships.
  • Present information using data visualization techniques.
  • Animation of workshops to collect facilitation requirements with the company.
  • Lead collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to analyze information needs, functional requirements and business processes.
  • System process analysis, design and simulation.
  • Assist in conducting mapping sessions with business units to facilitate process improvement and change in terms of business strategies.
  • Help facilitate quality improvement interventions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems; Data or computing or equivalent.

Relevant Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years of data analytics experience with proven functional experience in analysis, data visualization and/or reporting.
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence and reporting packages.
  • Experience working with data in various data sources and databases (MS SQL, DB2, Hive, Impala, Teradata, Netezza, File Sources, XML, JSON).
  • Experience translating business requirements into non-technical terms.
  • Knowledge and experience of statistical and data mining techniques.
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques such as clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.
  • Business experience in financial services required.
  • Beneficial experience:
    • Query databases and use statistical computer languages ​​in data management (R, Python, SQL, etc.).
    • Ability to work with data profiling, data quality and reference data tool sets.
    • Agile development experience.
    • Commercial experience in investments.
