Delaware State Police arrest two subjects for multiple robberies – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police arrested a 29-year-old man Jack Mason from Wilmington, DE and 29 years old Jinita Wright of Wilmington, DE on numerous criminal charges following investigations into four separate robberies that occurred in May and June.

On May 1, 2022, soldiers responded to Royal Farms located at 2160 New Castle Avenue in New Castle regarding an armed robbery. During this incident, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money and cigarettes from store employees. On June 7, 2022, soldiers responded to the PNC Bank located at 1 Penn Mart Shopping Center in New Castle regarding an armed robbery. In this case, the suspect pulled out a gun and demanded money from the bank teller. The suspect fled the area in a silver Ford Taurus while accompanied by another subject. On June 19, 2022, soldiers responded to Royal Farms located at 2160 New Castle Avenue in New Castle regarding an armed robbery. During this incident, the suspect pulled out a rifle and demanded cash and cigarettes from the cashier. Finally, on June 20, 2022, soldiers responded to Walgreens located at 500 Plaza Drive in Newark regarding a theft. In this case, the suspect insinuated that he had a weapon and demanded money from the employee.

Through investigative means, it was determined that Jaquan Mason was the male suspect involved in these four robberies. Mason was accompanied by Jinita Wright in the PNC Bank heist.

On June 21, 2022, Wright was taken into custody at her residence without incident. Wright was transported to 2 Troop and charged with the following offences:

  • First degree theft (felony)
  • Possession of a firearm while committing a crime (Felony)
  • Tampering with evidence (crime)
  • Obstruction of prosecution (crime)
  • Second degree conspiracy (felony)

Wright was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace in Court No. 2 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Facility on $41,500 cash bond.

On July 8, 2022, Mason was taken into custody at his home without incident. Mason was transported to Troop 2 and charged with the following crimes:

  • First degree theft (felony) – 4 counts
  • Possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime (Felony) – 3 counts
  • Second degree theft (felony)
  • Wearing a disguise while committing a crime (Felony) – 4 counts
  • Second degree conspiracy (felony)

Mason was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace of Court No. 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Facility on $452,000 cash bond.
