Two new buildings, reaching nearly 2 million square feet, were announced as part of Meta’s recent Gallatin data center expansion, including a cold storage building that will efficiently store older memories and photos and less popular.
“The past two years at Meta Gallatin’s data center have been extremely busy and successful,” Facebook spokeswoman Melanie Roe said.
“Two years after we started, we have completed our on-site warehouse, completed our on-site electrical substation and are preparing for our first round of turnovers in the main building for the first phase,” a- she stated, which means the space goes from being under construction under Meta control.
